With M.I.A.'s new album "
/\/\/\Y/\" right around the corner, the release of "xxxo" "Born Free" and "Steppin' Up" will have to hold all those die hard fans over till the July release. Though the singles don't sound like the the previous to better known albums it does lean more toward the free lance remixes and collaborations Maya has done in the past. The video for "Born Free" also leans less towards M.I.A.'s inner rapper and more towards her political, revolutionary side. i thought the video was an amazing piece of art and not only displayed a political statement about discrimination but also did something that is unique for music videos, it had overweight people which in an era overrun with the obsession with skinny Abercrombie-esque people.
